Introduction
The Safety and Security Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the assets, guests, and employees of a luxury hospitality property. Reporting directly to the Head of Security, this position blends operational oversight with strategic planning to ensure a safe environment that meets both local regulations and the high‑expectations of discerning clientele. The role is full‑time, Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, and requires fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Security Manager in developing and executing comprehensive safety policies, emergency response plans, and risk‑assessment procedures.
- Supervise a team of security personnel, conducting daily briefings, shift scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate closely with local police, military units, and municipal authorities to maintain up‑to‑date intelligence on potential threats.
- Oversee the implementation of access‑control systems, CCTV monitoring, and incident‑reporting software, ensuring data integrity and timely follow‑up.
- Prepare and manage security budgets, forecast expenditures, and monitor cost‑control measures to align with the property’s financial targets.
- Conduct regular audits of safety equipment, fire‑suppression systems, and evacuation routes, guaranteeing compliance with Indonesian laws and international hospitality standards.
- Lead investigations into security breaches, guest complaints, or employee misconduct, producing clear written reports for senior management.
- Deliver training programs on personal safety, conflict resolution, and emergency protocols for both security staff and front‑of‑house employees.
- Maintain the Gada Utama certificate and ensure all team members possess required licenses and certifications.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership on improvements to the property’s overall safety culture and guest experience.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School (SMA/SMK) or equivalent diploma.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory security role, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English; additional languages are a distinct advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and property‑management/security software platforms.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
- Valid Gada Utama (security guard) certificate.
- Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of local security legislation, licensing requirements, and industry best practices.
- Well‑established relationships with local law‑enforcement agencies, police, and military contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse cultural groups.
