Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) Lead to spearhead the innovation pipeline for our daily chemical portfolio, which includes soaps, detergents, and cleaning agents. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary R&D team, drive product development from concept through pilot and full‑scale production, and ensure compliance with BPOM and SNI regulations. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of product developers, formulators, and administrative staff, cultivating a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
- Design and develop new formulations for soaps, detergents, and cleaning agents that meet consumer needs and sustainability goals.
- Conduct reformulation and cost‑reduction projects while maintaining or improving product quality and performance.
- Oversee trial production phases: laboratory scale → pilot scale → mass production, ensuring smooth scale‑up and technology transfer.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the daily chemical industry to keep the product line competitive.
- Prepare detailed product specifications, Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and technical documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams to uphold stringent quality standards throughout the development cycle.
- Maintain and continuously update a centralized formulation database, supporting efficient knowledge sharing and regulatory registration.
- Drive green and sustainable chemistry initiatives, exploring bio‑based raw materials and eco‑friendly processes.
- Utilize ERP systems such as Odoo for project tracking, cost analysis, and resource planning.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmacy.
- Maximum age: 40 years.
- At least 3‑5 years of R&D experience in daily chemical, home‑care, or FMCG sectors, with a proven track record of product launches.
- Deep knowledge of surfactant chemistry, detergent and soap formulation, and cleaning agent technologies.
- Strong understanding of BPOM and SNI regulations governing household chemicals.
- Demonstrated leadership and project‑management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, costing formulas, and reporting; data‑driven decision making is essential.
- Analytical mindset, creativity, and a solution‑oriented approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and verbal.
- Additional assets: network of chemical raw‑material suppliers, experience with green/sustainable chemistry, and hands‑on experience with ERP platforms (e.g., Odoo).
