Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Research & Development (Pattern) Specialist to join our product development team in Kab. Grobogan. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals with a background in design, engineering, or related technical fields who are eager to apply their knowledge of pattern creation to real‑world manufacturing challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams, contribute to the design of new products, and help streamline our production processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and refine product patterns for a range of consumer and industrial goods, ensuring they meet functional and aesthetic specifications.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and production staff to translate concept sketches into manufacturable patterns.
- Conduct detailed analyses of pattern performance, identifying opportunities for material savings, cost reduction, and improved durability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of pattern specifications, version control, and change logs using Microsoft Office tools.
- Support prototype fabrication by providing clear pattern guidelines and troubleshooting any issues that arise during sample production.
- Participate in weekly project meetings, presenting progress updates and recommending adjustments based on test results.
- Assist in the creation of technical drawings and 2D/3D models that accompany pattern specifications.
- Ensure all patterns comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality policies.
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on workflow optimization and knowledge sharing within the R&D team.
- Travel occasionally to supplier facilities or customer sites within the region to gather feedback and validate pattern performance in real‑world conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3 or S1 in Design, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of pattern development processes, including material selection, layout planning, and dimensional tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; able to interpret technical data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly with designers, engineers, and production staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, documentation, and presentation purposes.
- Willingness to be based in Kab. Grobogan for the duration of the assignment.
