Introduction

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at a premier hotel and resort property. This entry‑level kitchen position offers a solid foundation for aspiring culinary professionals who wish to develop their skills in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment. The role is ideal for individuals with a minimum of a D3/D4 qualification in culinary arts or a related field, and who are eager to contribute to high‑quality food service while learning from experienced chefs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Execute basic kitchen tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the production of baked goods and specialty breads, leveraging the “Pembuat Roti” skill set to deliver fresh, high‑quality products.
  • Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist in the receiving and storage of deliveries.
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen brigade to ensure timely service, effective communication, and smooth workflow during peak periods.
  • Participate in daily briefings, receive constructive feedback, and implement continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of allergens and hazardous materials.
  • Contribute creative ideas for menu development, plating presentation, and seasonal specials under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Demonstrate a strong guest‑oriented mindset by responding promptly to special dietary requests and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: D3/D4 in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Age: Up to 30 years old (maximum 0 years of experience required).
  • Gender: Open to all genders.
  • Prior experience in a hotel or resort kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with teammates and guests.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and innovative with a strong desire to achieve results.
  • Positive personality, professional attitude, and proven ability to work as a team player.
  • Basic knowledge of bread making (Pembuat Roti) and an eagerness to refine this skill.
  • Availability to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
