Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Medical Representative to join our sales team in Balikpapan. In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary bridge between our pharmaceutical portfolio and the healthcare community, including physicians, pharmacists, and hospital decision‑makers. The successful candidate will possess a strong educational background (minimum D3/D4), at least one year of relevant experience, and a passion for delivering accurate medical information while driving product adoption in a competitive market.
Responsibilities
- Promote and market assigned pharmaceutical products to doctors, pharmacists, and hospital staff, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
- Plan and execute regular field visits to healthcare facilities, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Deliver detailed product education, including mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, and safety profiles, to enhance prescriber confidence.
- Collect, analyze, and report feedback from the medical community, providing actionable insights to the marketing and product development teams.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on visit activities, sales performance, and market trends to supervisors and corporate leadership.
- Achieve and exceed predefined sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) while operating under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—such as regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and supply chain—to ensure product availability and resolve any field issues promptly.
- Stay current with industry developments, new therapeutic guidelines, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate or Bachelor’s degree) in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a Medical Representative or in ethical drug sales.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information in an understandable manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, meet sales targets, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM tools for tracking visits and sales data.
- Willingness to travel within the Balikpapan region and occasionally to neighboring districts as required.
