Introduction
SPX Express is seeking a proactive and results‑driven Shift Lead to join our hub in Gaung, Indragiri Hilir, Riau. As the operational backbone of our first‑mile, middle‑mile, and last‑mile delivery network, the Shift Lead ensures that parcels move smoothly from the warehouse to the customer’s doorstep. This full‑time role operates on a Monday‑to‑Saturday schedule (09:30‑18:30) and requires a leader who can thrive in a fast‑paced, shifting‑work environment while maintaining strict service‑level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily dispatches performed by motorbike and van couriers, ensuring on‑time pickups and deliveries.
- Track inbound and outbound flows, coordinating closely with the 3PL (third‑party logistics) team to resolve bottlenecks.
- Oversee sorting and distribution processes, verifying that packages are correctly staged for the next leg of the journey.
- Lead a mixed fleet of courier teams, creating realistic shift schedules that align with customer expectations and SLA targets.
- Design and continuously refine delivery routes within the Gaung district, using mapping tools to optimize mileage, fuel consumption, and driver safety.
- Calculate operational costs such as fuel, vehicle maintenance, and overtime, presenting weekly reports to senior management.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching couriers on best practices for handling, route adherence, and customer interaction.
- Collaborate with the planning, shipping, and warehousing departments to synchronize order processing, inventory placement, and load planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, delays, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local traffic regulations, safety protocols, and company policies while fostering a culture of accountability.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; diploma or bachelor’s degree in any field is a plus.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or coordinator experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of first‑mile, middle‑mile, and last‑mile operations.
- Strong grasp of planning, shipping, and warehousing processes, with the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
- Proficiency in route mapping, fuel‑cost estimation, and basic logistics analytics.
- Excellent leadership and team‑building skills; ability to motivate a diverse group of couriers.
- Effective communication in Bahasa Indonesia (both written and verbal); English is a bonus.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and to be stationed permanently at the Gaung hub.
