Introduction
We are seeking a diligent Staff Receiving Warehouse (Staf Receiving Gudang) to join our fast‑growing retail supermarket chain. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for inbound shipments, ensuring that every pallet, box, or crate is accurately received, inspected, and stored according to our strict quality and safety standards. This role is vital to maintaining product availability on the shelves, reducing stock‑outs, and delivering a seamless shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from suppliers, freight carriers, and third‑party logistics partners.
- Perform a detailed visual and quantitative inspection of each item to verify that quantities, product codes, and conditions match the purchase order and delivery documents.
- Record all receipt information in the warehouse management system (WMS), including discrepancies, damaged goods, and special handling instructions.
- Label, tag, and organize items in the designated storage zones, following FIFO (first‑in‑first‑out) and temperature‑control requirements where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free receiving area by regularly sweeping, removing debris, and ensuring proper signage.
- Collaborate with the inventory control team to reconcile daily receipts, update stock counts, and trigger replenishment alerts.
- Communicate any discrepancies or quality concerns promptly to the purchasing and quality assurance departments.
- Assist in periodic cycle counts, stock audits, and physical inventory checks as scheduled.
- Support shift handovers by preparing concise reports on received goods, pending issues, and equipment status.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a related retail environment.
- Strong interest in the supermarket/retail sector and understanding of product classification.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in quantity or quality.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime.
- High level of honesty, responsibility, and integrity; trustworthy handling of valuable merchandise.
- Effective communication skills; friendly demeanor when interacting with suppliers, colleagues, and internal teams.
- Physically fit – capable of lifting up to 25 kg, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive motions safely.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and familiarity with warehouse management software is a plus.
